Q. Why did the ownership change?

Answer:

North Texas Community Hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Nov. 8, after Wise Regional’s board met Nov. 5 and voted to offer $20 million for the hospital, including a $1 million debtor-in-possession loan and $19 million for the hospital’s assets. Wise Regional was the only bidder for the facility and the sale of the facility was approved on March 26, 2013.

By combining the talent, experience and resources of both organizations, patients can expect more coordinated care – ultimately enhancing patient care quality and satisfaction while enabling more efficient use of resources.

Q. How does the ownership change affect me as a patient?

Answer:

Wise Regional Health System is investing in resources and technology to bring better care closer to home.
